She is my style influence because when she was younger, she wore a lot of cool clothes and accessories effortlessly.
I remember I was in high school and was away from home representing the school in a regional competition. Me and my friends looked for things we could bring as "pasalubong" to our family. They seemed to have a hard time looking for stuff for their parents. I didn't. I saw a cute T-shirt that would fit Mama perfectly and bought it without hesitation. And it was indeed made for her; she wore it with a nice pair of jeans and looked awesome.
She was the one who sewed my clothes when I was a toddler and we would have matching prints. She styled my hair especially in grade school and there I learned how to braid by watching her. I would have all the cute ties and ribbons and was always in style from head to toe (though she didn't spend outrageous amounts of money nor tried to follow what's in fashion that time).
I remember the Sweet Pea baby colognes or young girl's scents in beautiful glass bottles that she would give me, amongst a lot of pretty things that if I don't stop myself from spilling it all out, this blog post will turn into a novel. The point is, the feeling that I would have every time she'd shower me with those gifts, came rushing back again when she gave me her Valentine's present. It's Avon's Style Essentials Printed Hearts Manicure Set. Though I don't know how to manicure my own nails (all I know is to cut them), it was just so special. It has even inspired me to start learning how to take care of my nails in more detail, making use of all the accessories that came with it.
The color of the case or holder of the set is of course, my classic favorite Red and is heart shaped.
What made me fall in love with it though are the dainty small printed hearts all over the accessories. I just want to take them all out and hold them. They are just so cute.
The plus is that it doesn't just look good, it also seems solid and durable. The size is practical, easy to carry and yet still manageable to grip when used.
Good job to Avon for coming up with this product.
But a Very BIG thank you to my mother who's always there for me and still manages to make me feel like a very girly girl.
